How it works

You post once.
Everyone else gets notified.

You add a photo once, and the people you invited open the same album to see it. There is nothing to install, no group chat to manage and, most importantly, your loved ones are notified on their schedule.

What actually happens

In order, from the moment you sign up to the moment your mother is looking at the picture.

Step one

You create an album and name it

A name, a line about what it's for and a cover photo. It could be an album tracking your new baby's growth, or one for the whole family. Make it personal. This is your private, quiet space.

Step two

You invite people by email address

Type in the addresses of the people you want in the album. Each one gets their own invitation. Nobody can join your album without an invitation from you.

Step three

Each person sets up their own private account

They open the invitation and choose a password.

All Kindred Album accounts are private. There is no profile to fill in and nobody to follow. Most importantly, nobody sees advertising anywhere around it. Simply sign in and see your albums.

Step four

You post photos and videos

Share your memories with the people you love. Create a post from your phone, from your laptop or anywhere else you have access to the internet. They land in your album in order, newest first, with whatever you wanted to say underneath. Engagement algorithms have no place in our albums.

Step five

Your album participants get notified

We send a friendly, direct email saying there's something new, and each person in your album controls how often that happens. An email for every new photo, one weekly summary, or no emails at all.

They open it, securely log in and are seeing your latest posts.

Who we build for

The person this has to work for is not you

Some of our family is on Android. Some of them find technology intimidating and would rather not be handed one more thing to figure out. Kindred Album is also for the friend who swore off social media years ago.

Sharing our daughter's first steps or the first time she ate solid food with every family member, from her 90-year-old great grandmother to her aunt, brings us all closer. We feel every heart that's shared and have shared more smiles and laughs than we could count.

(Her first meal was mashed avocado, by the way, and she was not a fan. It made a good video though.)

Closer to the people we used to only see at holidays.

Kindred did something we didn't expect. Grandparents in other states, a great-aunt and second cousins see every photo now, and we're closer to family we rarely spoke to before. Leave your email if you'd like that for yours.

Free to join. One email to confirm it's you, then we'll write when there's a spot.
