Private family albums · early access

The album your family opens,
not a feed they scroll.

No ads, no algorithm, no public profile.
Just the people you invited.

Free to join. One email to confirm it's you, then we'll write when there's a spot.

This is the whole thing. One page, in order.

No feed to scroll past strangers. No suggestions. Your mom opens the album and the newest picture is right there, with a heart from your dad underneath it.

People react and leave a note. That's the entire social life of this app, on purpose.

The part we care about most

We started Kindred Album after our daughter was born so that we could share our most precious memories with our friends and family knowing that our photos and videos weren't being used to sell ads or train AI models.

A family should be able to send photos to the people they love without a company in the middle selling what it learns about them. We didn't want that for our daughter and we don't want it for yours.

  • Your name and email are encrypted in our database. Your photos and videos are stored encrypted.
  • We strip the GPS coordinates and device fingerprints out of every photo before we store it.
  • We don't show you ads. We don't sell your data.
  • We don't train anything on your pictures, and we'd have to tell you before that could change.
  • If you leave, you take every file with you and we delete the rest.

Notes our own family left in our album

The first album we made is our daughter’s, and the people in it are our own grandparents, aunts and cousins.

“Thanks to her mommy and daddy for sharing these adorable pictures and allowing us to enjoy her from afar!”
PopPop
“…so grateful to have a front row seat to her amazing journey as she steps through life.”
Mimi
“thank you for this App. Every time we get these pics it’s the highlight of our day!”

Questions we get

Is there an app to download?

There is currently no native mobile app. Kindred Album opens in the browser on a phone, a tablet or a laptop.

How do people know when I post something?

Everyone you invite gets an email when you post something new, unless they've chosen otherwise. Each person sets their own preference. They can get every post, a weekly recap, or no email at all.

Does it work for the family members on Android?

Some of our own family is on Android. The invitation, the password and the album all have to work for them, so that's who we test against.

Can anyone find my album?

Nobody can join your album without an invitation from you. We will never broadcast your album or suggest it to “people you may know.” Your album is your space and you have complete control over who participates in it.

Do the people I invite have to pay?

The people you invite never pay.

Will my photos be used to train AI models?

What you put in your album is never used to train AI models, and we would have to tell you before that could change.
